I was told today that apparently on new builds that sprinkler systems are required to confirm with building regs and that a 32mm main is required as standard.... is this just a load of hot air or???

Depends on system if no storage yes,

Recently did a new build and it was specced at 32mm, combi boiler there. (Not my idea...)

No sprinklers ever mentioned!

Never seen anything in the spec or from building control requiring sprinklers on new build houses that we have been involved in yet.

Did some in york last year.
Normal 25mm main to house and separate 32mm main to feed sprinklers.
