Minimum width of WC waste pipe

Hi,

I'm installing a new bathroom upstairs, the waste pipe of which will connect to the existing soil stack.


Is a 110mm pipe the minimum for a branch pipe to remove bathroom waste, or could a smaller pipe be used?

I've been working off the assumption that it is, however a couple of people have told me their branch pipes are slightly smaller.

Should have a diameter big enough to allow an 80mm ball to pass through IIRC

if its of a pump (saniflo etc) it can be smaller

Have you ever thought of checking as to what the Building Regulations (the Law) have to say about it.

I have seen a few posts from you relating to a new bathroom, I take it you are aware that it is a requirement to notify Building Control that you are carrying out this work ?

And why would you want to install anything less that 110mm?
