Hi guys,
over from the Sparks forum (no jokes please). The isolating valve on the return is leaking - it's one of the in-line, quarter turn types. It's ****ing out the seal of the valve (where you would put in a driver for the quarter turn).

How best to release the pressure in the circuit, without waiting for it all to come out of this valve...is the drain the best bet, or.....? And, when sorted is it just a case of using the filling loop:crazy:?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure filling loop is off then reduce the system pressure to zero from a drain off then renew the iso valve.
You may need to extend the pipe as the early iso valves were longer than proprietary Ballofix or iso valves.

Thanks for the quick response, appreciated - it's getting very damp! Any special spec for refilling?

Regards

Your only reducing the pressure, not draining so the system won't need refilling, just repressurising to about 1.2 bar.
PS, it's important that you do a Ze and a Zs before and after the work ;-)

have you tried opening and closing the valve a few times? found this can help 'em seal sometimes, unless it's flying out of there. you got wellies?

Cheers for that. Tell you what, Ze/Zs is a darn site less stressful that water pi**ing all over the cupboard and carpet:bigcry:. Pressure now reduced and drying out has begun.
