Help with leaking waste water to down pipe

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me what's the best way to fix this leaky connection union?

Does the connection to the main down pipe need to be horizontal? Looks a bit dodgy to me.
Should I replace with the pipe layout with something like I have sketched with the red or green lines in the picture attached?

Add a 45 bend a a bit of new pipe into stack rubber seal looks like a elbow with an o ring/seal that may leak if moved pipe maybe brittle.

It looks like it’s leaking from the strap boss as well. Personally I would cut the whole strap boss out, and renew with a bossed pipe connection. Thank you. Would it be acceptable if I replace the diagonal with horizontal going into a 90 bend. Do i need to have any fall on the horizontal section?
