Hi - we moved into our house 2 years ago and our bathroom is horrible.
this summer we are going to revamp it - have already bought tiles!
DILEMA = there is a horrible vanity unit that we wuold like to take out and replace with a smaller pedestal sink. BUT, the wastpipe of the toilet runs along the back and sticks out 17cm from the wall and so we cannot find a pedetsla to fit. ?? does this all make sense?
we have looked at wall mounted sinks but the pipes come up from the floor so would look bit silly.

please help!! its causing major arguments in our house!!

bathroom.jpgsimilar to this one i found a pic of.

without the correct picture its hard to comment but you may just need a semi pedistal sink with waste connecting to stack on outside of wall..cap the internal soil pipe and leave it boxed in..

Depending on how you want to go you could stud the wall out if you have room but that's quite a bit of work to fit a pedestal basin

bathroom is very small - so thats why we wanted to get rid of vanity unit cause its a lot bigger than one in picture

that doesnt explain much..just rip the vanity unit out and get a free standing sink with brackets or as suggested a semi pedistal... or is this a problem also..

Any decent plumber will be able to re-route your pipe-work thus facilitating the your sink of choice. This will be a tad more expensive that using what is there but the aesthetics may be important enough?
