Please could someone advise me on the situation regarding drilling through blue engineering bricks, (what i believed to be dpc bricks).
I have a job im looking at where i would like to install my shower tray onto a ground level concrete floor (as the customer is elderly and having a step is a problem). This would mean me having to trench out the waste in this concrete floor but also having to penetrate the wall outside through the one of the 2 blue brick courses

My instinct tells me that this is a no no and i have explained this to the customer but they tell me they had a quote from a large home improvement company that are willing to do this and have never mentioned this as an issue.

I understand that drilling these bricks in itself may be an issue due to the toughness of them but its the dpc being affected that is my main concern

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi. A core drill will do it, it may be slow. As for DPC issue, the pvc pipe you are likly to install is less porous than the blue bricks, so crack on. Good Luck
