Thanks. Aware of all that. Just that I have an install where consult says to go onto existing discharge point but it's not correct. Can't get correct drop and discharge doesn't terminate to safe place, therefore just thinking about what date regs came in as original instal wrong.

doesnt really matter about original install not being right, as long as you know ot to connect onto it as it would then make your install illegal, wish i had £1 for everytime i have heard, "but i just reconnected it the same way it was in, so its not my fault"

Totally agree. Just wondered if anybody new exact date regs came in so I can pass back to consultant

it clearly states the accepted ways of terminating a discharge pipe and the requirements needed if into any wastes system.

i think building control is consulted over wastes termination because many waste systemc cant cope with the temps and you may have to prove that the waste you are connecting to is designed for high temps and the only reasonable route.

many discharges are terminated over footpaths by front doors which is wrong as if it runs in winter and then freezes then it will cause a danger, so its best to have either a drain or soft ground/gravel below away from slabs.

You do also want it away from where its likely to land on people, as someone previously said the water will be hot, so either low down or away from a spot people regularly walk along or stand around.
