customer called me to pop around last thing today as he has pulled off the control knob to his gas fire.
easy type of fix as the cotter-pin had snapped and rod fell off underneath.
i was trying to fix it from under the fire but access was difficult. anyway, customers going on about it being 25 years old and it hasnt done bad for the age. he then says heres the reciept dating 1977! in which i corrected him by saying its 37 years old.
giving up on getting the pin back into the hole, i told customer the fire front had to come off in order to do it. couldnt do this as the fire surround with shelving was sitting directly on top of fire and all newly decorated around it. well thats not right i thought! how the hell can you lift the front off?. customer tells me it was fitted 30 years ago and has all been plastered in!!
next question was..when was it last serviced?
