Can anyone see any reason this set up wouldn't work before I take a hammer to everything in sight fitted quite a few of the stats but never work on vaillants. Only thing I can see in the book is to remove the 24v link? please help

The purple block on the PCB is the issue. You've taken the Grey and Black wires from the Purple block but only the RT is live on that - which is the Switch Section.

Remove your Black wire from the purple block on the board. Remove the black wire from 3 on your Combi Pack. Put the Grey wire to 3. Put a Link in from L to 2.

Then it'll work.
