Discuss Do I insulate beneath a raised cold water tank in loft? in the UK Plumbing Forum | Plumbing Advice area at PlumbersForums.net

Hello. In this recent cold snap my loft has been getting condensation droplets form on the bitumen membrane. I had previously installed lap vents and minimised storage to improve air flow.
The loft is well insulated apart form an area under the cold water tank. However my cold water tank is raised on a wooden platform about 3ft high. It is positioned directly above the HW cylinder airing cupboard.
Insulation was not place here to prevent the tank from freezing - however I wonder if this insulation gap is contributing to my condensations woes? - and if it is even having any affect on the cold tank with it being so far off the floor.
As my tank is raised so high am I best insulating the the loft floor to stop the warm air entering and then adding insulation to the undeath of the platform where the tank sits?
Or leave the insulation off the floor but construct some air tight insulated chimney from loft floor to water tank so the warm air focused an I minimise it condensing in the loft space?

Any advise on the best set up would be great - thank you.
