A few days ago, someone on here said that they did. Is this true?

Of course

If you don't it will turn in to LPG in the winter

yes they can freeze, if you take them with you when you go to the moon :)

the price of lagging on the moon is very high tho.

they need to be protected from corrosion if they are in contact with cement etc ie when buried in screed i often stick some id tape on usually when ive got a few pipes together mainly for my own use

It doesn't need to have identification. I can SEE it coming out of the gas meter and running along the wall for 7 metres, without any insulation on it.

There was a thread earlier this week and it was mentioned about gas pipe insulation, I took it that they meant earth bonding, the thread was along those lines.

the boiling point of gas is -164 degrees why would it need insulation?
that must mean freezing point,i thought it was -40 though,only because someone told me that years ago:D
it's a bit mind bending but,
boiling point is when a liquid turns into a gas.
freezing point is when a liquid becomes solid.
[DLMURL="http://www.elmhurst.edu/~chm/vchembook/501hcboilingpts.html"]Hydrocarbon boiling points[/DLMURL]
since natural gas is 90 percent methane, the boiling point is -164
propane is -40
butane only about 0
