Should I rearrange my tight schedule to accommodate a young woman who say's her damp patch is causing her considerable frustration ?

I would advise the young women that there are ways of dealing with dampness and say you are willing to drop in later to demonstrate.

What you need to do is make the hole big enough to get your head and Makita torch in there and have a damn good look around.
I'd probably wear my Batman outfit for a job like this.

Are these women trying to wind men up, or are they just not realising what they have said?
I still find in hard to look at a woman straight in the face when they want some plumbing item etc removed and ask me " I just want to have it off!"

Had a phone call from a middle aged single lady who said she thought she needed a fairly expensive new part on her oil boiler, but said problem was she was currently not working and had no money to pay me!
Unfortunately she did pay me in money though.

Know exactly what you are saying mate but the game is working out if they know what they are saying or is it our minds.

A few long time ago I followed a woman up her stairs to look at a faulty shower. As she was explaining on her way up with me behind her she said " Ive tried it in position lol

Explain that, in these situations, the dampness usually spreads before it gets drier
And it's perfectly normal to want it looking at/seeing to

I`ve heard some right crackerjack comments over the years but as it`s an open forum I`m not posting them here.

That's the problem, - trying to understand if the woman knows. They can be very clever at acting innocent. Your reputation would be destroyed if you said the wrong thing to a female - particularly if she was alone with you.

Oh yes! Figured years ago it`s a game I`m not very good at playing. lol

Thanks for the comments, it's dirty job and someone has to do it, looks like me then : )

Hi they used to say as a last resort you could discharge the D2 pipework at high level and turn it back to the wall. Similar to a combi boiler. I have just looked back through the regs this seems to have changed and it isn't mentioned now. It now mentions if at high level it should be discharged...

Hi, I seemed to have a blockage in kitchen sink. A plumber came and cleared all the pipework that is visible inside my home (there was debris and pebbles!) We saw that the pipe that takes water down the gutter was visibly full to the top. He said he will return with a coil to push through...

Hello all, I'm would like to extend an existing outside tap to another point in the garden. I'm about to pour a concrete patio and was hoping to run the water line underneath. There are existing drain (and who knows what) pipes running along the same wall so I'm nervous about digging too far...
