Baxi platinum 24 HE fault

Hi , Fitted a Baxi Platinum just over 5 years ago, customer has had a intermitant fault with it since it was fitted ! Baxi have been out quite a few times and can-not sort it, fault it runs ok for quite a wile then desides not to fire customer has to reset, then ok , is getting fed up with it , go's out boiler is on time setting comes back boiler not on, has to reset, will then be ok for weeks, only fault code that shows is ER no numbers, I think it a fault with PCB, local Parts center tell me they sell quite a lot of them, any thoughts ?? Told customer to throw it back at Baxi as it has allways had this problem !!

Had that before on one of these. Baxi told me it was the fan.

thanks Leo21, Baxi know their is a problem with these boilers but wont say what ! They have been out to this one several times and cant sort it, not replaced any parts , I still think its a PCB fault , it works very well apart from this minor glitch.

The one i had used to lock out but always reset. If its the pcb e168 usually flashes.

It's an app for iPhones and Androids. The forum headers say gas safe - public forum and the sub forum in there says gas safe registered engineers forum, the general public can't get in there.

Thanks Leo 21, hes not getting any fault code just comes up ER , do a reset then ok for a week or 2 customer getting fed-up with boiler, I dont want to start throwing parts at on the off chance you get lucky, But you think baxi would try, what do they pay for parts ? nothing like we have to.

is this the heat only same a a solo or combi same as duotec 1??

Its the combi, same as duo-tec but had the 5 year warranty now run out ! told customer to take out another warranty & get baxi back to sort it !! not sure what price a PCB would be for this boiler.

with my discount a pcb is 95 inc vat,drop poxi a pm,hes a heatteam guy and very helpful,i too would suspect a pcb

Never seen a fault code ER? E168 is pcb normally.

No did not see it myself, its what customer told me ! they could have miss read.
