Hi

I've recently replaced the bottom entry cistern ball valve on my toilet as the water in the cistern was rising too high into the overflow pipe. For ease I kept the original bottom water feed pipe and only fitted the valve and the arm reusing my existing ball valve.

I've set the level to around 25mm below the overflow pipe. The cistern fills to here and the water appears to shut off, however after a few hours or overnight the water level creeps up and it overflows into the pipe again. There is no obvious water coming from the water inlet valve.

Any ideas?

Lisa

if you have a iso valve bellow turn that off before you go to bed if it havent risen through the night its your fill/float valve passing

needs a new one fitting best we have found are fluid master brass tail type

as above renew the whole fill valve. your replacement will probably be slowly dripping which over time raised the water level.
