Saw something tonight that gladdens the heart.
I’d just drop my wife and Mother-in-Law off at Waslgrave Gala Bingo, and was on the return journey home, stuck on the front row at traffic lights at a notoriously deadly, for pedestrians and drivers alike junction on the Ansty road.
Something caught my eye: a large Red wreath had blown off the war memorial and landed smack bang in the middle of the road.
Anyone who knows Ansty road in Coventry will know just how deadly this area is for pedestrian fatalities.
This kid, no more than 14-16 years old ran straight across 5 lanes of traffic and picked up this large poppy covered wreath, before any cars could run over it, and placed it back on the war memorial.
And, if you believe what the papers say, there all no good.
