Hello

I am trying to find the specifications of this water heater. It specifically the power rating I am after but full specs would also be very useful.

Here is a picture -

Many thanks!

3kw if only one immersion

Might be worth talking to these guys for spec details, as they seem to make replacement tanks for those:

and they show maybe a comparable unit here?

Thanks @Basher

I spoke to them. They confirmed it is 3kw as ShaunCorbs said earlier.

Does this mean it draws 3kw per hour when on?
Draws 3kW only when heating. May take -wild guess - 2 or 3 hours to heat the tank from cold, and then the thermostat switches it off until the temp drops through usage or heat loss. So one up to temperature the average consumption is much lower than 3kW (depending on usage)

Ah OK. That's clear now. Thanks very much.

Looking at the Mcdonald data suggests the loss from the cylinder in 24 hours is just a bit over 1kW. So once heated up, say about 30p a day to keep the tank full of hot water. (assuming average day-rate for electricity now - eg £0.27 per unit?

To heat say 10 litres of water from cold, eg 5 deg, to the tank temperature of 60 deg, takes a bit over 0.6 kW. So every 50 litres of water you run off would consume 3kW, and cost about £1, which might equate to say 8 minutes of showering (depending on shower - wide ranging possibilities!)

So if you kept the immersion on all the time, and shower every day for 8 minutes, you would use about 28kW a week, which is going to be about £7.50.

As compared to using 3kW constantly, which would cost £136 a week!
