Spotted this in the pub last night in York, surprisingly it wasn't leaking
 
They always go

They only sell them with the spigot spreader kit so use most of the time 1"x22mm female iron with a rubber washer

Yes I agree a female iron is the only proper solution

Its bloody amazing all these things you see that shuld surely leak yet they dont!
Then you do up your compression ballafix and the bugger leaks even though you done it out of place and put bosswhite on it lol

I have attached an image of the brass body within a tap. Having replaced a cartridge which has cured a leaking tap, I can see that there is a small leak from the brass body which can be unscrewed. Is there a seal behind the body? Thanks.
