In the new benchmarks in the MI's, one of the questions they ask is if the condensate is terminated externally then is it weatherproofed. (i.e lagged)

Thought it said is it lagged in accordance with BS..... which talks about insulating when exposed, vulnerable or something like that. I'm not totally sure, but kirkgas must know the exact requirement and wording.....

Obviously somebody doing well in current climate , i'm looking at a holiday in s****horpe

I thought if 22mm had to be lagged but if 11/4 or bigger ok not to,just good practice

thats what ive heard, 22mm to be lagged and 1,1/4" is ok without..

lagging wont heat a pipe up though so has little affect on outside pipes, heat wire would have to be fitted if the winters are going to be bad each yr

Is it not current standards to ensure all external condense pipe must be 1 1/4 on new installs which this is .

no most mi,s ask for 21.5 which is overflow pipe but regardless if you use o/f,1/14,1/12, it is good practice to lag it and if the custard can afford it trace wire as well

most manufactures will state its best to increase to 1 1/4 or 1 1/2. i would personally lag the pipe, i have seen plenty of 1 1/4 condenses frozen the last 2 years.
