Hello ,
need advice about a leak on an internal! 3" rain downpipe that decided to leak on glued coupling. I dont encounter 3" so never have any, would have to buy a whole £20 length just to use 10" of it on the repair..

So heres what im wondering.. Its vertical fall and top seal is leaking on coupling, can I repair it at all? Will silicon or more glue work at all or better yet is there some other way to seal it? Keep in mind its only doing rain.

If not I'd have to get whole length, coupling and a jubilee rubber timesaver coupling to use as slip. Do they even make those in 3"?

Cheers!

Personally I would cut it out and replace, saves callbacks and the length is charged to the customer anyway.

Gah how about the rest of you start posting something usefull and solve me my problem here :)

You sure you can get sw 150mm waste pipe and fittings :)

Just buy a length and 2 slip couplers or the ones that you can file/knock out,

I hate seeing those flexi dubaliee clip connectors when you could use glued or push

Also the length of pipe will be charged to the customer and you'll have some stock for next time

Gap filling adehsive by polypipe is made for this

Is that for the timesaver coupling or to stick around the leaky joint?

I'd preffer that too but how can you glue a slip coupling? You'd have to apply glue then slide it all the way, line it up and hope it hasnt glued itself so you can slip it over the joint?

You would have to use one glued and one push or both push although I've done a glued slip coupling once, it wasn't fun and I ended up covered in glue, bad to push the fitting all the way up so the pipe was inline and the fitting was half a fitting higher than the joint glued the pipe up and push down quickly, plenty of glue to make it slip
