Hello,

Got a Grant Vortex eco 26 combi, 2007 Loses pressure . Vessel ok, no dripping out prv that I can see/feel

I noticed while I was filling the system when the filling links open boiler fires when I close it off burner stops ?

Any ideas theres a few valves dripping in the boiler casing which will change

Cheers

expn vssl charged??? wont drip once its blown off, prvs dont always drip all the time. prove that first, then check for leaks on system, then check for blown dhw hex

Thanks , theres some leaks with in the boiler casing low water pressure sensor, Isolation valve on return and the manual vents leaking (Dripping) which I need to sort.

I'm just confused why the burner only fires up when the filling loop is open and shuts off as soon as I shut the filling loop even though the system pressure is 1 bar +

needle was rising steadily etc while I was filling the system will order a new one just in case.

You also could check inside the burner chamber, back in the days when I used to work only with oil burners like buderus, weisshaupt , strebel, viessmann

It was rarely but sometimes the cast iron body had a very tiny hair cut which causes the water leaking into the chamber did you check if that's dry ?

ye pulled the burner out all dry bit dirty though don't think they ve had it serviced ever

If you give it a clean use a mask it's very unhealthy without ... The small particles you won't see but they are very dangerous.

The pressure loss is due to the combination of all the little leaks. Fix them before paying out for any other bits.

The reason the boiler fires when the filling valve is opened is that it is supplied from the demand side of the flow switch, so the boiler thinks you have opened a hot tap.

Thanks I sorted this

I was having a bit of a silly moment as to the boiler firing with the filling loop open
