Evening all..!

Just a couple of questions really....

1. I have just bought a used hilmor (15-22mm) pipe bender. Do you have to use hilmor guides or can I buy a set of universal jobbies..?

2. I am due to buy a Rothenberger superfire 2 torch with mapp gas, but any idea where I can get them cheapest? Ebay comes out as about £50.00, does this sound the best price?

3. I have seen a Rothenberger quick jet heat guard (Rothenberger Gas Torch Heat Guard Superfire 2 Quick Jet on eBay (end time 15-May-10 11:58:11 BST)) has anybody used one before, and are they worth it or shall \I just buy a heat mat instead?

Any info would be greatly appreciated..!

1. Universal should work fine

2. Good price

3. Buy a heat mat instead

monument guides the same as hilmor, using mapp gas will result in a very hot flame so if your inexperienced your better using propane

Hilmour use a thicker guide. IF using a universal set you better buy a footrule.

Benzomatic is much same as Rothy but cheaper. Rothy is lifetime guarantee tho ;) Forget the MAPP gas.

Waste of money. Learn to solder properly.

Any info would be greatly appreciated..!

Your welcome.

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
