I've just had a new Vaillant boiler installed yesterday to replace a 30+ year old Glowworm boiler and I'm wondering if anyone could comment on the placement of the flue.

Should be 150mm unless plume kit I believe
YesThanks for the reply. Is that 150mm distance from the drain pipes surrounding it?
Is the Vaillant ecotec pro 28 a fanned draught I take it?
Thank you very much for your time. I'll speak to the installer when I get the invoice.
Did he make you aware before hand that the boiler should be moved ideally?Thank you very much for your time. I'll speak to the installer when I get the invoice.
The old boiler had one of those square steel flues which came out under the car port which had a hole cut around it.Did he make you aware before hand that the boiler should be moved ideally?
It isn’t right but currently you do not have a plume kit attached. The old boiler had one of those square steel flues which came out under the car port which had a hole cut around it.
The old boiler needed a part replacing which another gas safe worker botched, so we got another who came to assess. He said we would either need to cut a larger hole in the carport for the flue because it was less than 300mm, or get a new boiler and have the flue come out the other wall and with a plume kit if it was too close to the window opening.
We chose the latter because we didn't want to have to chop up the carport for such an old boiler that was probably on it's last legs anyway.
That doesn’t look like a Vaillant one to me. What model of boiler is it you have?I have just received the following attachment in an email from Vaillant which confuses matters even more for me. It states 25mm away from vertical drain pipes and 200mm below pipes and drains.
Vaillant ecotec pro 28. The document does has other tech info on the next page regarding Vaillant vertical and horizontal flues. That doesn’t look like a Vaillant one to me. What model of boiler is it you have?
Then I don’t know why Vaillant have sent you that picture, as that is not the one that comes with the boiler. The one I posted is the one in the installation manual. Take a look for yourself, you should have the same book onsite with the boiler. It is on page 44.Vaillant ecotec pro 28
Is this a grant job? Have you paid the installer?
I have received another email from Vaillant with the following email.
Here is a closer image of the flue. (Forgive the poor lighting, I just got back from work)
I have only paid half so far which covers the materials and the boiler. The job was completed on Wednesday evening and I have been sent the invoice for the rest.
Wouldn't worry about that to be honest.
Sure you’re not looking for an excuse not to pay out the rest?
I have received another email from Vaillant with the following email.

What does this comment mean? I’m lost.Buy cheaply, buy twice ..

I got the part because he said he will have trouble getting it.The op has stated he has previously bought part(s) and got somebody to fit them . this suggests cost cutting imho
Then the questions about the install ..
Get the origion plume kit fitted. I’m sure clearances are reduced to 25mm then.Yes alter the rain water at the top, it will look a lot better that way as well.
Get the plumber to do it for you, he should have priced it in and it’s his job to fit to manufactures instructions.
There are some right rough gits out there anything to get a boiler on the wall.
