This is a pressure reducing valve correct?

Not a prv would say at most a gauge tapping

Or flow limiter

Thanks. I go to a patch of houses where they have banging pipes in the middle of the night. We usually remove these and it sorts it.

Someone showed me one before and I asked if it was a NRV but they weren't sure. I assumed it was a pressure reducing valve.

Any day I see something new is a good day, a little bit of knowledge.

Thanks
