Good Afternoon

Could anyone advise on what sensibly priced digital thermometer I should buy with the clamps/clips to attach to the rads flow and return pipes to balance the radiators?

Thanks very much

Mart

Hi Diamond

I'm doing my 6129 at the moment but have a rad install to do and would like something that will allow me to see the differential temperatures on the flow and returns to balance the customer's rads. What does FGA's mean please?

Does this thermometer come with clips as otherwise I would have to keep aiming the gadget at the pipes individually or is that easier? :dunce2:

Thanks mate

Are you an installer Marty32? Reason I ask is that most fga's have them these days or you could buy yorself the clamps to match :)

Here's a link for an infrared thermometer KANE INF151 Infra-red Thermometer | Thermometers | Corgi Direct ... Never owned one personally but have seen them in use ?

For your information FGA = Flue Gas Analyser (Around ÂŁ500.00) Temperature Differential Thermometer (ÂŁ60.00 +) But shop around, Try ebay.

An infra read means you're not restricted by the lead lengths and them getting tangles/broken ... As mentioned, shop around.

Ouch! one side and OUCHYAFUCHIA!!! the other is a good beginning guide IMHO

I/R thermometers don't work on bare metal. You will have to point it at the painted radiator surface. Or place some insulation tape on the pipe to take a reading

Not a suggestion but some advice for I/r thermometers

I remember you mentioning this once before Simon :) Good tip regards the tape!
