I recently visited my old college to find out how I would go about obtaining my NVQ in plumbing and was told that my City and Guilds 6035 qualification expires over time and I wondered if anyone knows how long these qualifications are valid.

Thanks
Darren

I doubt if a C & G qualification will expire. If you qualified that's it. As long as the course is valid at time of taking it then that's it. The more experience you get counts for more than paperwork.

think it lasts for 3 years or something like that, whilst studying nvq.
its the paper qualification to setup the practical side.

think i have the 6035 commercial?

If my 6035 level 2 was completed in 2013 and my level 3 was done in 2014 would that mean my level 2 is invalid but my level 3 is still okay?

Yes I see what you mean by that. Back in the day I had done the 6129 plumbing which was then discontinued to the new 6035. And as long it's current at the time it's the qualification at that time regardless whether it runs on off in or out. If you're in and complete it successfully it's a current ongoing qualification forever.
My brother is on the level 3 diploma plumbing 6035 atm
You're still okay to achieve a new nvq but at a cost for the awarding body be coming out to access you in your tasks

The course itself may expire and come to an end to be replaced by another. At the college I work in we transferred from a very old 6161 due to expire 2017 I think and started to teach the 6035 last year. Once you have gained your qualifications they will not expire on you. The lecturer here is just about to retire and has qualifications in plumbing from the 1960's and people still consider them valid.

Does not make much sense. There is no way you can do the level two and level 3 in one sitting surely its is going to take time to complete it you pass or failed
Lets say you've started in 2013-2014 finished with success , then at that time regardless of expiations or not , you started it to complete the current paper at that time.
