Got a little chaffy corvec brittony 2 water heater where the cust has said the hot water has started coming out boiling.
Hardly ever work on these so any usuals ,
Other thing is i have seen where its fitted and its in a proper pig of a place so if its a case of strip it apart then i may have to swerve it.

Depends which Brittony 2 it is, 2, 2A, 2T etc, the 2 being the really, really old one!!

Here's a link to the various models and they have the commissioning and fault finding instructions Click here.

Without going into the gas things that can make it really hot, when they used to scale up, the water would get slower and slower and then get scolding as the water remained in the heater a little longer. Anything past the straight Brittony 2 were pretty nice to work on once you'd done a couple.

We have a situation on our allotment where we have a large propane tank (free standing) inside a portacabin (not chained) connected to a plaque heater (outdated flexible hose) which is laid on its back (on the carpet) to serve as a burner to boil water for tea and to heat the portacabin. What...

I reckon if I did a survey of 100 heating engineers, asking what would they recommend for heating a granny annexe being built onto the side of my house, in place of the garage, most would give me a suggestion to put in a) an extension to the existing boiler rad circuit & electric water heaters...

I have just moved into a late 1990s new-build house with a small bore (about 1/2" OD pipes) gas fired boiler central heating system. All the normal radiators get hot but two of the three towel heater/radiators don't get hot and the pipes feeding them are cool to the touch even after the boiler...
