what is the 6th wire on a honeywell zone valve
is it as i suspect not used on a w plan and can i wire a replacement 5 wire to an existing 6 wire zone valve

also is the motor and mechanical fitting on a 22mm vone valve the same as a 28mm

got a 28mm 6 core motor to replace, and today just recycled a 22mm 5 wire from another job

hoping i can save some money and install that one instead

i meant s plan, sorry long day

am i right in thinking the white one is the useless one

the spare white on the 28mm gives a power when closed
it is for variations on gravity setups (I think)
is it currently being used? if not then its not needed

thanks guys

are the motor heads interchangeable between 22mm and 28mm valve bodies

The 6 wire 4043's have a relay inside them. Normally used on C plans where the valve is fitted to the hw side wired like this

On an S plan it will go live when the valve closes so stick it in a spare terminal.

Don't know if the heads are interchangable as i've never swapped a head yet on a honeywell. Either the motor or the microswitch that fails and can be fixed in 5 minutes and if it is the valve you are swapping the lot anyway.

Yes they are, I have done it the other way around (had a 28mm kicking about and used the head to replace a 22mm)
