I have a Worcester Heatslave 18/25 boiler installed 3.7 mtrs above the tank. Will a twin Tiger loop pull the oil up on a 10mm twin pipe system or not? Any thoughts please.

What's a twin tiger loop? A tiger loop will do the job, but why not try 8mm pipe instead of 10mm.

Hi SimonG, thanks for the prompt reply, sadly the 10mm is already installed. Just hoping it works as its a new install. Have been told that a twinned Tiger Loop may be better lifter rather than a full blown Oil Lifter (£££)

Will the amount of oil in the tank make a difference to the height lifted?

Unlikely it will work. Suction too high and the pipe diameter is too large. Even if it did, the pump seals would wear out pretty quickly.

You need to divide the oil supply system into two separate stages - look at putting another device like an oil lifter part way up and drawing off that with a tigerloop system. I would recommend 6mm bore pipe for the final section.

Thanks for that WHPE. It seems you might have hit the nail on the head. Could I slip the 6mm into the 10mm as its a straight run?

I doubt you'd get the 6mm inside the 10mm for any significant length as there's just to much friction against the pipe walls.

You should have used 6mm to begin with (It's all given in the OFTEC manual), but in any case the lift is too high for a single stage as a pump can't lift that high. The Danfoss / Riello pump instructions will detail maximum suction head.
