Can somebody help me!

I have an acrylic roll top bath that I need to change the overflow/waste and p trap.

The combined depth of the waste an trap is 20mm greater than that of the clearance on the underside of the bath, so I had to cut 15mm off the threaded part of the waste. And at the moment there is a 5mm hole in the flooring.

I also had a problem with the overflow, the thread wasn't long enough to pass through the side of the bath and screw to the retaining ring.

Is there somekind of special waste/trap that I should be using?

was it from bathstore .com?or b and q?
you can get overflows that have a center screw which will be long enough
not unusual to have to cut the floor on these bath remember if the waste gors to a soil pipe it should be a 3 inch seal trap
