A new thread to discuss how to make our vans and tools safer ,kicking this off with transits ,but any van applies ,This happened just 10 miles from me,if you have a transit seriously consider plying the inside door bent door.jpg

A local plumber yo me had the very same happen. It can't be done on new ones, but the Mk 7 is a target.

I've had extra locks and alarm fitted and I use a steering lock oh and I've had the port hidden I've git a connect

Is that just a transit flaw? I guess there is no runner on the top of he door which would make it harder to fold over?

For me
Bulkhead is a must
deadlocks on the rear
Van vault for expensive gear
vans got an alarm
Always parked somewhere sensible
If possible park with rear door that's first to open against tree or pole at night

other options are to put a back gate style bolt on the rear doors on the inside and climb out via side door or any form of bolt even two holes and a bit of stud bar

and then you can put a chain on the slide door that you feed through a hole in the bulkhead just before shutting it and pull chain tight a padlock on the chain in the cab

If anybody is local to Staffordshire, cheshire, shropshire, this guy is a friend of mine from the pub.

Stoke-on-Trent Locksmith - Dan Topping

Very good guy, mention "Dan the forum guy with the Amarok" and he'll know who you mean and sort you a good price out.

That's a new 1 on me. Haven't heard of van door being folded down over in Ireland.
There's a prob with new connect too where scumbags cutting cables with hacksaw blade to short out centrsl locking.
They're cutting wiring loom between wing and passenger door with hacksaw blade.
locksmiths can giv ye a bit of armour to cover the loom so it can't b cut

this was also how they broke into mk 6 transits, ford should have learned from that when they made the connect

The vivaro's/traffics are easy, pull the rear door handle off and pull the wire bingo doors unlocked

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
