fitted a 837 plus and customer wanted to use his old programmer. one of those British Gas UT1. he never used the room stat. anyway left with 3 core cable at the boiler. connected live to common, S/L to RT connection on PCB and removed the 24v link. but cant get it to fire heating. got 240v at the programmer, but not at RT when call for heat. Probably something simple i missed. one of those days. Any suggestions guys??

Just typed out answer but it's in the public forum, are you GSR?

In installer mode have u got temp for ch set or is it still off? Are the valves under boiler open? Basic questions.

Click on his thingy and it just says plumbers arms , go on web view shows yellow sticker. TT app is missing a few bits.

When you say only 3 core cable, I take it you have got L N E then a supply from stat to RT so should have 4 cables into boiler.

yes ive been into installer mode and set flow temp. ive 4 core into boiler L N E from fused spur. existing 3 core cable coming from controller which ive used for switch live. if that makes sense

I would , remove bridge on ut1 so terminals 3 , 4 are volt free and normally open ( when off) run two cores from 24v , one into programmer on 3 and one in to 4 via room stat. Hey presto volt free switching . Contacts in programmer last longer

can someone tell me how i wire my hive into my ecotec 837 plus vaillant boiler ? (new model only 2 years old)

Hi everyone, Looking for a bit of advice, recently went to a job where heating was operating when called for however not for the hot water. I have changed the 3 port actuator Honeywell head however this doesn’t seem to have solved the issue, does this mean that the programmer is faulty? Or is...
