We've had our unvented cylinder installed for just under a year, and I've noticed that the 'static' pressure (all taps off) has been very gradually dropping over the year. When first installed, the pressure gauge read spot on 3.5bar (the nominal operating pressure), but is now at about 2.6bar.

Mains pressure is in the range 5 to 7bar, and the cylinder pressure builds normally during an overnight heatup cycle - to about 3bar. There is absolutely nothing escaping via the tundish.

It's due its first service very soon, so would a clogged strainer be a possible cause? I might expect this to affect flow rate, but not really the static pressure.

The 'ancillaries' are covered by a two-year guarantee, so it's no 'biggie' - just trying to understand what might be faulty.

There's no need for you to understand it. It's illegal for you to attempt to work on your UV cylinder yourself so just in case we don't give out the info.
