I have a Stuart Turner Monsoon N3.0 Bar Twin pump in the loft to support water pressure in bathroom on the 1st and second floor. It has recently turned itself on even when nobody is using taps or showering.

Having tried to reset the pump by switching it off and on it didn't work, it still makes "working" noise plus occasionally whistling. I am fairly confident there is no leak or dripping tap. The pump might be 8-10 years old. Any suggestions please?

Toilet is not running. There seems to be lower pressure in the shower as well as toilet tank and washing machine which is in the top bathroom (the "working" noise in the pump has been going on for the last three weeks). Any more ideas appreciated!

Have you checked the toilet's not running? ;)

Use toilet paper to dry around and under the rim then lay a few squares of paper around & under the rim and see if any get wet, possible cistern valve letting water drip in to the pan?

10 year old may be time for a new pump ! or call out S&T for a repair

If you can isolate the pump and take off the inlet hose there are filters inside which may need to be cleaned out. I've also seen the filter break down and the bits getting stuck in the flow switch.
