Hi guys im setting up as a sole trader in the new year and am looking to work alongside another plumber in the Hampshire area. I have almost completed my tec 2 certificate and have struggled to find any employers to work with to gain my NVQ.

So im going for it, getting liability insurance and starting my own small company. is their anyone in the Hampshire area that would like help at the weekends so i can learn how to improve my skill base and get more experience for trickier jobs that i might come across. Once i have a bit more experience and some cash i will be able to register for the NVQ as i will have my own company !!!

More than one way to skin a cat LOL

I am building up my own tools as jobs come and take pride in a clean professional job

Let me know if you are interested in someone helping out or even sub contracting the small jobs so you can lie in bed at the weekend or have that important family time.

Let me know your thoughts and feelings

Regards

keep it simple. tackle all jobs inc gardening to get going and the customers will get to know you and have you back, just be sure to do a good job and be tidy and youll get along fine. Dont be to ambitious to start with

As soon as you get and work for your own company you cannot get an NVQ alas . . . .

(not without telling a whopper!)

Because the idea of an NVQ is to get experience over a period of time alongside an experienced plumber. If this was not the case people would be getting NVQs left right and centre. I'm like you got my tech cert level 2 and I'm doing bits and pieces of work myself so it is possible :). Just don't worry about getting the NVQ worry about getting experience.

I'm currently doing my tech cert at college, first of 2 years! Then the college charge you a nice £300 to register for the NVQ (Either along side your second year or after!) but like you guys, its hard to find anyone to take on!

I have an ideal vogue max S18 boiler and I’m considering fitting auto balancing TRVs, my question relates to the boilers pump. I see a boiler pump menu for either 70% or 100%, so, is the pump set at either one of two fixed speed percentages or does the pump actually vary speed, (modulate)...

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...

Hi all, I'm installing a concrete patio out back. By the wall under the kitchen sink I have an existing P-Trap gully for the grey water from the sink, dishwasher, washing machine etc. When I pour the concrete there won't be any chance to dig it up anymore. From my own research I get the...
