Afternoon all, I have been to 2 national merchants today to find replacement glands for a set of taps without success, sadly the tap has no distinguishing markings. Can anyone recommend a merchant that has a variety of makes? Photo to follow, thanks

Spline size is the only difference take the tap gland with you i buy mine at Plumbase .

Lunns.co.uk. might be cheaper to buy tap though theres over 1200 ceramic cartridges and to fall accross one is being lucky.

As steadyon said. Try ideal standard as they have that tell tale slit on the splines. Might be worth showing us a pic of the complete assembled tap.

Thanks guys, I hadnt thought of shower doc. I regularly use plumbase and plumb centre but nothing stocked similar.

It does look like Ideal Standard, as has been said.
If it is, it will have a white rubber sealing washer on base, - that is one of the problems with that exact type, the washer perishes.
You can look up under Ideal Standard tap spares, but they are well over ÂŁ30 a pair, plus delivery no doubt, so you might be better replacing entire tap if no need to match it to over taps in same room.
You can however, buy Ideal Standard taps complete body only which will suit the old heads.

screw fix carry some as well, as does my local indie merchant who has a few, so I carry a set of each in the van, not been beaten yet

I have attached an image of the brass body within a tap. Having replaced a cartridge which has cured a leaking tap, I can see that there is a small leak from the brass body which can be unscrewed. Is there a seal behind the body? Thanks.

Hi bit of a weird issue, I installed a grohe bathroom tap successfully 2 months ago bought from screwfix. Last week the right hand hot tap makes a squeak noise as I turn it on or off, left tap is 100% perfect and noiseless. This grohe tap is like one unit, so no screw notch or way I can remove...

Our kitchen mixer tap has started dripping. Like so much of the plumbing in our almost new build bungalow, it is lacking! The plumber didn't install any isolating cocks in the H&C feed to the tap so how can I identify which of the valves is passing? Shut the whole H&C water system down?
