Thank's for that, have a happy and prosperous New YearPlastic snap ring needs to be removed then rubber seal can be removed.

Do you mean flush plate or pipe ,to take off the plate to gain access to flush valve just lift the plate up slightly and pull forwards to open ,to change flush pipe you need to remove the toilet .

Most times I would remove the cistern not the pan myself as they are either grounted into tiles or silconed down.
