Hi everyone.
Pilot light extinction problem on an old Myson Economist has been traced to a faulty overheat limit stat. It's a Ranco LM5P8037 which is now obsolete. It's a 2A 30mv 110 degree stat with a coil inserted into a pocket on the flow outlet. Will any other Ranco limit stat with similar spec do the job or is there a better solution (other than the obvious suggestions of 'time to scrap your boiler' and get a new one)? Heating engineer has advised me not to replace the boiler (that's why I called him out) and has told me he will fit the stat if I can find a suitable match. I know a Ranco LM7P8009 is a match but these seem to be obsolete too. There seem to be loads of 16A 400v Ranco limit stats out there but, though the HE said all these stats do the same job I feel we should replace like with like. . Thanks for your help.
