have had scaffolding up around the house for work being done in upstairs flat. came out this afternoon and the gutteriing around our bay windown has been smashed off by the scoffolders while they were dismantling. they have hidden it behind one of the trees. it wa sthe original cast guttering how hard is it to get radius guttering and have it installed. the bay is curved not angled .

i am presuming this will be costly for them.

Have never had to get cast iron radius guttering, just getting the straight lengths is expensive and I ended up having to use an online based company. For radius they'll probably have to go to a company that specialises in supplying heritage/listed jobs. It's not going to be cheaper for them!

How badly broken are they? If they not in a load of little pieces it might be possible to go to an expert welder to get them fixed. Welding cast is not easy but it is doable if you know what you're doing with preheat/control cooling.

Might be worth taking some pics and getting in touch with some welders, if they think it would be feasible gives you something to fall back on in case it looks impossible to get radius that would fit.

I hate when folks do that. Just man up and accept responsibility. I was carrying an old rad out when it slipped and gushed Black over their brand new bedding. I was mortified but went to them and was sincerely apologetic. Guy was so taken with my honesty and willingness to replace the bedding that they gave me another job worth several ÂŁk all for the price of a red face, a new duvet and my honesty

Both Saint-Gobain ("Classical") and Hargreaves Foundry can make replica gutters, so it's do-able, and there may be others. I suppose you could offer to pay a proportion of the cost to avoid 'betterment', depending on the condition of the gutter before breaking.
ÂŁ1000 to make a mould sounds a lot, but up to your scaffolders to find the best price if they want to haggle, and if not, they can always claim on their public liability insurance.

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
