As a plumber what qualification is needed to install a replacement electrical shower in a customers house?
 
Even with a like-for-like swap, the suitability of the existing wiring and earth bonding arrangements need to be checked and the RCD, etc. tested. A record of these tests and the details and qualifications of the person who undertook the work should be provided with the invoice.

Hence, IMO, for this job it is usually better to subcontract to a registered electrician.
