Client collects filtered rainwater into a stainless steel buried tank. He needs to pump this to water tank in attic. I am not sure what is the best way to do this. I want it to be automated so that when he uses water the tank in attic will fill up automatically and stop filling once ballcock closes valve.
Any ideas?
Thanks

The only rain water harvesting I've fitted has been the proper kits.

Can your client not pump it directly to where it's required from where it's collected?

Here's one of the control panels that I've fitted. It comes with a dirty great stainless steel pump that sits in the tank. The clever bit is dealt with by this box of tricks 10.jpg

submersible pumps with two float switches wired in series. best bet is to check out rain water harvesting suppliers.
the rain water/grey water will have to use seperate pipework, tanks etc... inside the property to avoid cross contamination with any potable systems and the all the pipework, tanks and fixtures will need to be labled to the correct BS.

may also need a cold back up on the tank if theres only one toilet.

To avoid cold back up on tank

just buy a cistern with 2 bottom inlet holes, one for cw main and the other for rain water feed, and then you automatically comply with air gaps and regs. Both my upstairs loos fed this way from couple of roof tanks or cold main in summer if tanks dry out , simples is best
