now obviously most plumbers test 1st fix copper pipework & push fit after 1st fix etc. but does anybody pressure test the waste pipes? never done it my self but fancy giving it a go on a big chapel renovation im working on. anybody do it regularly , what kit do you use etc. ? thanks

Easy way for me.

hose pipe and water. Run down every waste and drain.

any job of any size will require soils and wastes air testing unless its just local additions youll need plugs and drain bags and a small manometer officially its supposed to hold 3 inches but ive yet to see anyone get that as traps will blow around 2.5

re the original question, never, just fill it with water and check for leaks.

never ever done any testing tbh. solvent weld, clean pipe and fittings and you should be fine.

On new builds I'll set up a hose and drop it in to all wastes and run on each run for 10
mins or so whilst doing other niggly bits at the end of first fix. Does get a bit tedious going back and forth every now and again though
