Part P qualifcation

hi all im in my 4th year of plumbing at college, today we started our electrical part of the course then get told after we have passed our exam we are not qualified to touch electrics unless we sit another exam (part p). but my question is if i pay £800 or so to become part p in 4 or 5 days. I've not had any electrical experience in the past, but our tutor says we can sign our own work off for example running a cable from the consumer unit to the shower and wiring up the shower, does this seem correct.

this seems a like a new lad starting out and getting gas safe in a week, surely not. has anyone done this before if so is there any training provider you recommend.

if you have the qualifications you just need to sign up to a CPS and prove to them you are competent to do the job.

in my honest opinion tho a 4-5 day course is not going to be great, you want to do a proper electrical course and learn it correctly

I think it's obvious that your not going to become a good electrician in 4-5 days. It's just a way of creaming money from people.

I have just gone to the dark side, your need more than part p to join a cps your need 17th and inspect and test it's been a chore

Your tutor shouldn't be telling you that.
