I've got a pan connector coming out of the pan horizontal to the floor, can I pipe the basin waste into the back of the elbow and would I need an anti-syphon valve on the basin trap?

you need a pan connector with the boss allready on it
then yes fit an anti vac trap on the basin

i agree with gravytrain. yes you can but you need the right sort of pan connector with boss and anti vac trap.
