Anybody on here know much about paint ?
done out my bathroom used bathroom paint which is on plasterboard wall and awoke this morning to find it hasn't taken bubbled and flaking off.
cleaned the wall as well before applying and no moisture in bathroom as had window open
used same stuff different colour in kitchen same procedure and worked a treat.

What the hell could cause it to bubble flake??

is it new plasterboard? i would just sand it down(flaking and bubbling area )and give it another coat ,just got to be carefull now use another type of paint on it because that will cause a reaction aswell.

old plasterboard ,
used a damp cloth cleaned all the wall off just to make sure and its gone pear shaped looks shocking done my head in as spent £23 on bathroom paint and this happens.

if you still have some paint left i`d do another coat and see first coat might have sealed it,theres also the decorators forum experts at hand.

If it's fairly old plaster board, chances are it has moisture in it and once you painted it, you sealed it. The moisture needs somewhere to go, hence the paint flaking off as it escapes.

PB is best left stored at room temp for 24 hrs before use, and then use a sealer, followed by an undercoat before applying your final coat. Allow each stage to dry fully before applying the next one.

Personally, I like the new moisture resistant PB that is now available and it is perfect for bathrooms and other wet areas.

Next time, just get the wife to paint it and if it goes **** up, then blame her! LOL
