hi
i am currently moving home and i have been told by a plumber that the enc pipework into/out of this gas box would not pass a gas safety test. I have also been given a safety certificate to say that there is nothing wrong with the pipework. Can anyone advise
thanks

What was the reason given for it not passing?

It could be the exit position, the earth clamp position, lack of clips but they can all be fixed.
Maybe I have missed something that another keen eye might spot?

They said that the box comes with pre-drilled holes but the installer has drilled his own hole and the pipework should come out the bottom of the box (which it seams to do) hence my confusion

It exits top right.
It should exit bottom right.

The earth tag needs moving to the correct place and the pipe over the top needs a couple of clips in my opinion.

The hole in the side of the box needs sealing once the pipe is altered.

It's not a major amount of work so any gas safe registered engineer could put it right. To my mind it is the sort of thing you'd put right rather than fail it, so long as the customer is willing to pay for the work. I might be old fashioned.

The outlet is correct due to it being a medium pressure incoming the vent is there and tbh it doesn’t really matter on an exposed meter on an in wall set up it matters and the gas guy would be right then in this occasion he’s not

Is there not an air vent top right next to the exit hole?

I know this is a surface box so the actual hole position doesn't really matter but what are your thoughts on the air vent and the current exit hole in this case?

My thinking was that it would be better sealed with the pipe exiting at the bottom for the same reason we seal rear exit holes.

This CADENT link gives distances required for semi recess or fully recessed boxes.

fine as the medium blow off (eg over pressure) eg clear tube is well below it

But easier to cement it up

Get the gas services / networks to cast there eye over it

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks
