Guys , I seem to be on a run of struggling to get what I want via local merchants, screwfix etc , I may have to use an online merchant .
Who uses the online merchants and who do you use ?
Cheers in advance

I needed a pcb for an obsolete boiler. Got one from keeptheheaton came with 2 security stickers on one opened one not. Looked at pcb and it's obviously been fitted before so refused to use it. Contacted them and guess what nothing back.

I try and avoid using online wherever possible but the prices plumbase have been giving me recently I may be driven to it as I seem to be a retail customer no matter what I say. Problem is other merchants around me are terrible so I'm left stuck and may start using online more.

Agree 100% on both points pal

Williams trade only or city plumbing

I have an account with Williams ( trade only plumbing).
Order befor 5pm for next morning delivery. On Saturday and Sunday too.

Yep use them also but to give you an example , just today found I need a Danfoss 3 port and a quality concealed cistern , do neither lol , it just seems to be happening a lot recently.

Use Williams but not city

Day to day I use city my branch there a brilliant bunch manager will even bring stuff in his car if I’m desperate and the truck is busy

Price wise there ok you do need to screw them down like anybody these days

Might be a stupid question.

When you order things online where do you get them delivered to? No good being cheaper if you have to sit in all morning waiting for it to come.

I used to use William's which was good when I first set up as I was quiet but now I cant be sat around waiting for materials to turn up. If I'm on an install for a couple of days no issue you can have it delivered there. But for consumables etc.

Same as Simon site or my stores

I know heating world of spares us drop points. Local papershop is one.

I get materials delivered to where I'm working.

Oh yeah I forgot that.

As I said it's ok when your working on site and can get stuff delivered but for spares or consumables when you doing small jobs is a nightmare. Hwos delivery point is handy but parts dont get there before 8 like the merchants Which is why I try and use local.

My local merchants though have used their last life with me. I will only use them now when I'm desperate as I'm fed up of paying retail.

Yeah just the same, guess what local pub, they are always there 24/7
and if its cash on delivery they sort it and I settle. Then she calls me to tell me its is there.....happy days ....centralheatking
