Out Heating system is losing water constantly. I believe it's overflowing from somewhere and is flowing into the waste water funnel and from there straight into the waste pipe. Apart from receiving a very large water bill it's preventing the system from reaching the 50 degrees idol temperature (just shy at about 47-48 degrees) and therefore the system is constantly running trying to heat the water. We've recently replaced the PCB board and then the compressor, and both times the engineer didn't detect the leak. I'm not an engineer but I'm wondering if the system has some kind of ball valve like a toilet cistern for shutting the water inlet? The waste water funnel is half filled with water that looks still, but in fact it's a steady stream of warm water going straight down the waste pipe.

NIBE won't speak directly to the owner, only one of their partner engineers. Even though I used two different partner companies and they both missed the leak. Does it sound like my suspicion of a ball valve problem or could it be something else? Is it a simple fix that an experienced handyman could attempt or is it one for the engineer??
