My kitchen sink is getting smells coming from the sewage system.
It’s definitely human waist not rotten kitchen smells as we have used tonnes of chemicals and nothing makes any difference.
Are there any special devices I can buy that I can fit under the sink, designed to stop this awful pong?

You are probably losing water from the trap seal. Is there anything down it like a piece of string?

The other thing which may be happening is the trap water being sucked out of the trap - an anti syphon trap would cure this.

Alternatively, do you have any dishwasher / washing MC connected to the waste - may not be connected properly.

Hi WHPES
Yes I have a D/W & W/M further up the same waste tipe that the sink feeds into.

Do the hoses from the DW and WM go up in a loop behind the appliances and drop back down into the trap, or are they trailed on the floor?

Can you undo the bottom of the trap and clean it out?

Yes they both leave the machine then loop up and over into each waste pipe.
Top of each loop is about 80cm off the floor then drop into the horizontal (30deg down slope) which starts at the machines at 40cm off the floor and 10cm by the time it gets to behing the sink
The trap is clean.

When you get the smell do you hear gurgling? Post a picture of the trap arrangement.

Check all the fittings from below the sink as far as you can see to make sure they are firm. If that doesn't solve it, then you need to call a plumber.

assuming there is a trap on each apliance if not you need to fit them and they need to be anti vac traps as each apliance on a run like that will draw the water from the other traps alternatly you could fit hep water less traps which have a plastic membrane seal
