Hi guys,

Can i install a multi fuel stove with a back boiler to rads with no hot water cylinder & just use a pump to circulate the water? There will be no hot water for taps or anything, this is just for rads.

When the pump fails what happens to the water in the stove? I'm not HETAS but it sounds dodgy to me personally :)

Find a HETAS engineer.

You will need a graity circuit to circulate sufficient heat to upstairs rads in case of power / pump failure in addition to the pumped circuit.
You'll also need a suitable chimney, suitable feed and vent, a high temp header, copper overflow, suitable pipe sizing etc etc...

Best thing to do is get yourself a local HETAS installer in - you can search directly on their website for contact details in your area (you'll need a wet installer).

This project is for a granny flat, all one floor with 2 radiators. Hot water for taps comes from under sink electric instant hot water gysers.

Tick,tick,tick,tick..............

Then it will be
but your honour I thought it would be ok I didn't know it would kill someone when it went wrong
NO YOU CAN'T
Don't mess with things you have no idea about

It won't work and won't be safe. I do not think you will get sufficient heat dump or a gravity circuit if its all on one floor. You could ask a professional to talk to you about having a thermal store in the roof space and come form there to your rads, but it will need to be carried out by a HETAS member.

I agree with Reg Man, take heed of his wise words and the Granny flat scares the hell out of me, is Granny going to be operating it, tick tick Booooom, twas a good idea whilst it lasted, think again, inside the box this time and not outside of it.
