Greetings.

We have an LPG boiler here as we are out in the sticks with no gas main, the fuel is delivered by Calor into a big tank.

I am looking to buy an LPG detector, you know like a small gas leak detector only it works with LPG.
I want to check the joints of the boiler and also the gas fire just to see if we have any small leaks.

Does anyone have any recommendations for such a tool, are there any preferred brands?

Thanks a lot.

Any gas leak detector will pick up LPG. Any reason why you want one if you suspect a leak on your pipe work turn the gas off and get a GSR in to test the gas pipe as LPG sinks and you may have gas around your feet without knowing.

You are equipped with a very good natural leak detector. It's called a nose. LPG stinks and because it is heavier than air it is less likely to disperse.

As suggested above, if you suspect a leak, get the system tested properly. Waving a flammable gas detector about will just give you a false sense of security.
